What Passim is

Passim is a research database for U.S. immigration law that your AI assistant can use. When you ask Claude or ChatGPT an immigration question, the assistant searches Passim and answers with citations to what it found.

The citator

Before you cite a case, Passim tells you what has happened to it since it was decided: the later decisions that affirmed, limited, vacated, or reinstated it, quoted from the source. A status is a starting point rather than a substitute for reading the decision, and the absence of a warning doesn't establish that a case is good law.

Confidentiality

Only the research question reaches Passim. The conversation around it, your documents, and your client files stay with your AI provider under its terms. Passim keeps operational logs for 90 days and doesn't train models on your queries. It's a library, not a place to keep client files, and nothing it returns is legal advice.
